We would like to inform you that, according to an official communication we received from the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP), the EAPTI status of the Systemic Institute of Cyprus (SIC) has been temporarily suspended as of May 28, 2025.
We consider it important to point out that this decision does not affect the recognition of the SIC as a nationally accredited Educational Institute by the Cyprus Association of Psychotherapists (PAP).
We would like to express our special assurance to the Institute's trainees, as the Systemic Family Psychotherapy training program continues uninterruptedly, and its completion is not in doubt.
More particularly, we inform you of the following:
The suspension is temporary and does not concern a permanent cessation.
During the temporary suspension, the direct award process of the ECP is suspended. This means that SIC graduates with less than three years of experience after graduation, as well as trainees who may graduate while the suspension is in effect, will not be able to apply for the ECP through this process.
Graduates who meet the criteria for ECP through the ancestors process, i.e. have at least three years of independent practice after graduation, can apply through the NAO (ΠΣΨΘ).
For any clarification or question, we remain at your disposal.
Sincerely,
The Board of Directors
