Election of the New Board of Directors at the Pancyprian Association for Psychotherapists

The new Board of Directors of the Pancyprian Association for Psychotherapists was elected by the members of the Association on Tuesday, February 3, during the Annual General Assembly.
Thekla Vasiliou, Psychologist and Systemic Psychotherapist, was elected as the President of the Association. Dr. Petros Antoniou was elected as Vice President, Laura Savvides as Secretary, Amalia Deli as Assistant Secretary and Nikos Alexandropoulos as Treasurer. The following were elected as Members of the Board of Directors: Nelli Constantinou Papadopoulou, Theclina Theophilou, Panayiotis Proestos, Liza Pavlou Papagianni, Michelle Frantzi Karan, Maria Kassinou, Vivian Demetriou, Demetris Shouer, Dr. Maria Michaelidou and Cleo Skouri.
The new Board of Directors takes office at a crucial time for mental health in Cyprus. The need for institutionalization of psychotherapy and for ensuring quality services to citizens is currently an imperative priority.
In this context, the Association seeks to strengthen institutional cooperation with the Ministry of Health, with the aim of promoting a clear and comprehensive regulatory framework for psychotherapy, which will ensure both the quality of the services provided and the protection of public health.
With responsibility and determination, the new Board of Directors will continue to work to further strengthen the Association's course as a reliable interlocutor of the State and society, demanding solutions that protect the profession and respond to the modern needs of mental health in Cyprus.
