Cyprus Association for Person Centred Psychotherapy and Counselling (CAPCPC)

 

The Cyprus Association for Person-Centered Psychotherapy and Counselling (CAPCPC) acquired its legal entity upon the award of its Registration in 2009.

The aim of the CAPCPC is to bring awareness to the humanistic theory of Carl Rogers, through the organization of lectures, seminars and workshops which are open to professionals as well as to the general public.

The CAPCPC is a member of:

  1. The World Association for Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapy and Counselling (WAPCEPC)
  2. The Network of the European Associations for Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy and Counselling (PCE Europe) who have awarded the Cyprus Association for Person-Centered Psychotherapy and Counselling the European Certificate as Training Organisation for Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy and Counselling.
  3. The European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP). CAPCPC is an affiliate member of EAP Vienna.
  4. The Pancyprian Association of Psychotherapy (PAP). CAPCPC is a co-founder of the Pancyprian Association of Psychotherapy PAP

 


Cyprus Society of Family Therapy (CySoFT)

Τhe Cyprus Society of Family Therapy (CySoFT) was founded in 2001 by professional psychotherapists from both the private and public sectors. In 2002 CySoFT became a member of the European Family Therapy Association (E.F.T.A.).

Systemic Psychotherapy looks at problems within the context in which they arise, develop and present themselves.

One such context is the family system, critically important in the development of both the personality and the particular problems in the individual’s life.

Regular Members of the Cyprus Society of Family Therapy are professionals with postgraduate degrees in Systemic or Family Psychotherapy who comply with the criteria of professional practice according to the regulations of CySoFT.

Associate Members of the Cyprus Society of Family Therapy can be:

– University-level students or professionals interested in training in family therapy and the systemic approach.

– Individuals interested in family therapy or the systemic approach.

Institute of Psychotherapy, Professional and Personal Development (IPSEPA)

IPSEPA is a Training Institute Organisation which offers training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It was first accepted as a Contingent Member of PAP in October 2013 and was finally accredited by PAP as a Full Member Psychotherapy Training Organisation in November 2014. IPSEPA is recognised as a Psychotherapy Training Institute at the National Level.  The training program offered by IPSEPA is based on the European training standards for cognitive behavioural psychotherapy (indicated by the European Association for behavioural and cognitive therapies – EABCT) and aims to fulfil the criteria of the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP).IPSEPA’s graduates can apply to the EAP for the award of the ECP via the Grandparenting route and after 3 years of postgraduate experience. These applications are administered and presented to the EAP by the applicant’s relevant National Awarding Organisation (NAO).

Systemic Institute of Cyprus (SIC)

Systemic Institute of Cyprus (SIC) is a Training Institute Organisation based in Nicosia, offering training in Systemic Psychotherapy. It was accredited at the European Level by the EAP as a European Accredited Training Institute (EAPTI) in the latter part of 2014. SIC’s graduates, are entitled to apply directly to the EAP for the award of the ECP via the Direct Award (DA) route as soon as they have completed their psychotherapy training.

SIC is also recognised as a Psychotherapy Training Institute at the National Level.

Please note that all ECP registered practitioners are required to be a member of a NAO or a suitable National or European Organisation linked to the EAP for quality assurance of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and ethical practice.
