Dr Takis Evdokas is a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist trained at the known Karen Horney Clinic of the Institute of Psychoanalysis, New York. He was the first person to bring psychoanalysis in Cyprus in 1961 after his return from New York. He is also a known Psychiatrist, a well known political figure in the political history of Cyprus and a prolific writer with more than twenty books published as well as countless articles and research projects. At 85 years of age he is still active as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and in promoting improvements in the field of mental health in Cyprus. Takis was a main inspiration for the creation of the Pancyprian Association for Psychotherapists (PAP) and continues to remain so.
